Reiko Azuma (vocal) : Reiko draws on a rich background of experience including studying under Jazz singer/educator Nicky Crayson at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music (Access Centre) and the personal vocal coach Mr Eugene Rutherford Casey (African/American Jazz Pianist, Music teacher, Vocal Coach at Bangarra Dance Company. He has coached well known singers such as Patti Labelle and Diana Ross at hight of his career back in USA.) Reiko has collaborated with local  luminance and internationally recognized jazz musicians including legend Bobby Gebert (toured with Renee Geyer, Carmen McRae and Sarah Vaughn etc…), Carl Orr (Billy Cobham band), Sean Wayland, Matt McMahon, Simon Barkar, James Greening, Michael Rose, Neville Whitehead, James Hazelwood-Dale,  Andrew Dickenson, Jason Morphet, John Twiggden, Ayko, Greg Johns, Mervyn Sequeira, Eduardo Santoni, Bryan Areniego, Jess Ciampa, Steve Elphick, Paul Cutlan, Nic Cecire, Andrew Dickenson, Peter Coopman  and most recent with 2014 Australian Jazz Award Winner Guitarist Carl Morgan.

Reiko’s life experience as a visual artist, mother of three contributes to a vocal performance full of colour, texture, life and spontaneity.

Influence and Musical inspiration: Sara Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Carman McRae, Aretha Franklin. Also Reiko love listening to singers like Nai Pam (hiatus kaiyote), Esperanza Spaldingand, Gal Costa, Joao Gilberto, Gregory Porter,  Al Green, Stevie Wonder, Elis Regina etc.. She has listen to many instrumental jazz players such as Bill Evans, Joe Pass, Barney Kassel, Jim Hall, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Keith Jarret, Joao Donato, Joyce,  Miles Davis, Cannonball Adderley, Art Farmer, Ron Carter, Sergio Mendes Trio, all the songs composed by Antonio Carlos Jobim and many others jazz instrumentalist, composers , world music (Brazilian, Latin, African) gospel,  R&B, funk and soul.
